Canadian Hip-Hop Artist Daybreak (aka the Rap Assassin) hails from Victoria, British Columbia and currently operates in
Vancouver. His style embraces an old-school mentality when it comes to lyrics and flow and the music itself is hard-hitting
and catchy with big, pounding drums being the cornerstone of a typical Daybreak track. His subject matter ranges from
bootlegging black market liquor during Prohibition era to ancient Samurai code and to all other aspects of life, death and the
great beyond. Citing influences such as Wu Tang, Jedi Mind Tricks, Nas, Xzibit, Beastie Boys and so many more,
Daybreak's main objective is to constantly evolve as a rapper and combine his many influences into a single voice to spread
the message that quality Hip-Hop is alive and well in this era.
Daybreak has a storied career in music and broadcasting up to this point, including past performances in Vancouver with
such artists as SonReal, Moka Only and Josh Martinez. The majority of his career however, took place in Asia where he
relocated in 2008. Involvement in the Asian entertainment industry began in Beijing, where Daybreak was chosen as a
model and brand ambassador for Swiss fashion brand Strellson. He also went all around China to meet and collaborate with
Chinese musicians from the remotest corners of the country and the end result was the soundtrack to a television program
made about the journey on Beijing's Travel TV, which Daybreak personally composed.
After making a mark in China, Daybreak relocated to the heart of the Asian entertainment industry, Seoul city in South
Korea. There, he studied Korean Hip-Hop and learned to rap fluently in Korean. This led to him appearing alongside top
Korean Rap star and one of the fastest rappers in the world, Outsider, as they performed his chart-topping song 'Longer'
together on the popular Korean program Star King. Appearing on such a big stage opened up other opportunities and
Daybreak began hosting TV programs in Korea and he also released the single and music video for his Korean-language
song 'Spice Fight', also known as 덤벼.
After a meaningful career overseas, Daybreak has returned to Vancouver to focus solely on Hip-Hop music. Since arriving at
the beginning of 2017, Daybreak has collaborated with accomplished crew Global Party Starters to release two singles as
well as several remixes. 'Prolly Drunk' is a party song about thriving during Prohibition by distilling Gin in the basement and
holding massive underground parties while staying one step ahead of the fuzz. 'Rap Assassin', his second single, pays
tribute to Old School Hip-Hop and classic Samurai movies and displays the technical side of Daybreak's rap flow. Daybreak
has also released remixes of songs by Lil Kim, Drake and Future and has two new singles on the way: 'Beast Mode' in
collaboration with Canadian producer Yard Times and 'Poison Clan', composed by Greek producer Retrobeats.

Jace Junggyu Kim is a Canadian painter currently based in Vancouver, BC. He was born and raised in Korea where he was highly influenced by comic book art until the age of 15. He graduated Emily Carr University of Art and Design with a bachelor’s degree in Media art (animation) with the passion of animator. He worked in various game and motion graphic companies as a digital artist but he made a drastic transition to become a traditional painter.
Creating the most of the tension between the figurative and the abstract, his expression on canvas arises from the meeting and combination of various artistic materials; oil, acrylic, ink, spray paint and so on. An abstract chaos capable of giving rise to an emotional overlap plays as a background to the purity and refinement of the portraiture depicted with both obsessive and expressive brush strokes.
He wishes to continuously grow as a contemporary artist with his distinctive ambidextrous style and techniques. His left hand is masculine and expressive opposing to his right that is feminine and articulated. When he uses them simultaneously he becomes most sensitively concentrated within the struggle and harmony of being in-between.

Sin-Birds is UBC’s premier Afrobeats dance troupe. Watching a performance is mesmerizing. The duo takes an obvious delight in dance and perfect synchronization, and they top it all off (literally) with snazzy hats.
Third-year Kenyan students Serge Biriteye and Clement Rugwiro — Sin-Birds’s two members — met at a Caribbean-African Association event. When the event’s music started and dancers took to the floor, Rugwiro said he was immediately impressed by Biriteye.
As it turned out, Biriteye and Rugwiro were “both passionate about raising issues about diversity and bringing a cultural aspect to the music and dance community on campus.”
The troupe’s name — Sin-Birds — is a portmanteau of the Arabian Nights character, Sinbad the Sailor, and the “birds” suffix from UBC’s Thunderbirds — a name choice that mirrors the duo’s dedication to a local dance community with international inspirations.

Lead Vocal of The Kids Downtown
Tupac once spoke of a flower growing from concrete: enter Yasmin Ray. With her name meaning a beautiful flower, Yasmin was raised studying the spiritual beauty that music carried and always dreamt of sharing it. Initially she built her foundation from her father (a veteran vocal coach) but Yasmin always knew she needed to find her own voice.
As her journey continued, she found inspiration by the life, music and art of the late great Tupac Shakur. Motivated by his wisdom and passion, Yasmin began writing poetry, learning how to translate into song so she could express herself freely. She started constructing her own version of modern R&B with the flare of her misfit mentality. While mixing her fearlessness, dedication and hard work, Yasmin's sonic style has bloomed beautifully.
Completely independent and determined, she traveled to Atlanta to work with top shelf producers to craft her vision. With their guidance and belief in her voice and style, they created her 5 song EP called "Blank Canvas" and "Wishful Thinking" being her first single. As her growth is limitless, Yasmin is determined to make her sound as fresh as the flowers that represent her name.

Hey I'm Angel, 21 from Vancouver.
I started singing since I was 2.
Music back home, which is Philippines, wasn't very updated so I grew up and was influenced by the old tunes from the 50s to 80s, like The Outfield, Diana Ross, Air Supply, Firehouse, and a group called Steps from England etc. Going into elementary, I became the school's representative for any singing related activities, as well as for the community. In high school, or grade 7 here, I was recruited to join our school's only entertainment group that goes to every town or local hotels to produce a show for the tourists and the community.
I learned that I was in love with everything about preparing and going on stage. It's where I feel peace and acceptance the most.
I've taken workshops for acting/ singing/ writing/ speech and dancing as my transition when I was about to move to Canada, which is in the spring of 2011.
Coming here I knew I had to go back to zero,
but I couldn't keep myself away from what I love so I auditioned to a local community for a multicultural event called For Your Entertainment. With the group, I was able to expose myself to some singing opportunities like singing for the Christmas Events in PNE, Filipino Festivals in the Fraser Community, & collaborations with artists/ celebrities from the Philippines like Sharon Cuneta, Bamboo, & Lani Misalucha.
I also experienced a year of Capilano University's musical theatre program, & had my own band called Fire Exit at the same time. Mainly playing Rock Song Hits, like Paramore, Nirvana, Linkin' Park, & more.
I've always wanted to push myself more and be out there, by slowly starting my own home studio, and build my confidence where I can create my music anytime I want, and I'm still working on that.. but I can not anticipate enough when I share this gift to the world, starting with this community. So I'm sincerely grateful and honoured to be part of this event, where we unite without hate but love, passion and art around us because We can!
